Problems Finding Purina Pellet, has anybody used Kings brand?

Yeah just keep an eye out. For a long time now if I try to put anything other than the Purina Complete in a TSC online cart, it says not available at that location, now it says not available within a 72 mile radius to ship to store. So it's not in the store and not close enough to ship for local...

Problems Finding Purina Pellet, has anybody used Kings brand?

I've doubled my garden size, but I suspect my rabbits will be somewhat fussy, and I don't know how much I can grow and it won't be consistent. I have experimented on which greens they can eat that won't give them too much calcium or oxalates etc etc etc etc etc. I looked into trying to feed...

Problems Finding Purina Pellet, has anybody used Kings brand?

Yes, I feed a full to overflowing hay rack every night to each single housed bun, and also plenty to does with litters and grow outs. I'm going to feed hay in the am too now. I feed timothy. I'm increasing oats too, so overall they will want less pellet. They also get some garden greens. Good...

Problems Finding Purina Pellet, has anybody used Kings brand?

Is anybody else having problems finding their preferred pelleted feeds? Locally I have one general feed store and one Tractor Supply. I was feeding 50/50 Purina Rabbit Complete and Modesto Milling from Chewy. I don't like the Purina, I don't like Purina anything and refused to feed it to my dogs...

    Breeding for color

My current red New Zealand parents just produced 50/50 REW and red. Same buck to a different doe previously produced two REWs to six reds. I was going to sell or cull for meat the REW doe from the first litter, but she is the one that would always come to the front for me to pick her up and hold...

How to remove silver skin ?!

Gristle is usually referring to cartilage, like what you find inside and around joints, like in legs or thighs.

    Filthy %^&*^#$(* Scrub Jays

I will second covering the cage in 1/2-in hardware cloth. My rabbits are in regular cages but are inside a covered welded wire dog run that has a real roof. It was originally a dog run then a greenhouse then a quail run, and now is a rabbitry. We covered every square inch of that 8x16 with...

Rabbit meat cost , price for sale

Nice! I seem to have already hit carrying capacity of the run, now it's time to see what my freezers can carry... Edit: Alaska Satin I have a wee bit of rabbit envy for your herd! 😄 I like to go 16 weeks as well, I get a little better weight and one rabbit feeds us and the dogs for several...

Rabbit meat cost , price for sale

If you wait longer than around 10 weeks, you no longer have a fryer, you have a roaster. The meat gets tougher. After 12 weeks the feed to meat conversion ratio also drops, so they put weight on more slowly. Since I either roast or Instant Pot mine and like them bigger, I go a little longer...

Rabbit meat cost , price for sale

That's about what I have to pay in Central CA. I put myself in the black at $10 a pound per rabbit processed for my family. It's going to take a few years to break even. I'm getting about 3.5 up to to 4lbs dressed at 12 weeks.

    I need help

I'm too new to really know, but I would isolate the sick ones if possible and also practice biosecurity with the others until you get more answers! I'm so sorry! 😔

    Flemish Giant x New Zealand

I have three 1/4 Flemish, 3/4 NZ rabbits. I bred both bucks to full NZ does. My pure NZ kits grew better and faster than my 1/8 Flemish kits. The 1/4 Flemish doe has been a very hard keeper. The bucks have been fine and weigh about 13 lb, only eat about a half cup more a day than the New...
