Hey there! I figured I'd jump right in with something I found recently that's made my buns and I very very happy. Walmart has nice big bunny water-bottles ( about 1 liter if I'm not mistaken ) for about $3.50 a piece. They've haven't leaked unlike any of the other ones I have ( big square white ones @ 4.50 from petsmart, opaque blue ones, DIY 'make a pop bottle a bunny bottle', etc ), come with sturdy wire hangars and are just as big if not bigger than the $10 ones you can get at petsmart, with the same design. Don't confuse them with the bigger nozzled doggie bottles though. :)

Lol I wish my walmart had water bottles that cheap! The cheapest here is about 7.50, and they usually leak.

I ordered one from ebay that was only about 2.50 with shipping. It actually seems to be working well, no leaking or anything like that yet, and big enough that it only needs to be filled every other day with a lionhead.

Oh nooo! :( I'll see if I can't find out what brand these are - if you're lucky you might find them somewhere else for the same price. I was shocked to find ones so big here, but they're all out of stock at the moment. I'm trying to get one for each cage, and then some extra "just in case", lol.

Congrats on finding a good one though! That's awesome that it only needs to be filled up every couple of days.

An inexpensive water bottle can be made
by using a two liter Soda Bottle and using the
same caps that come on the one liter Rabbit water bottles.
You can purchase the sipper tubes and caps from most Rabbit
catalogs. When you buy ten or more you get a better price.
Soda bottles will cost the loss of the 5C deposit you would have gotten back.
A bottle holder can be easily made from scrap cage wire,
and they work very well. I have been using them for years!

You have NO IDEA how useful this information is!!! :D I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a new watering system for the growout cages and this is perfect!

You can order those water nipples from http://www.klubertanz.com
They're relatively inexpensive. I use them in addition to
my auto-watering system when a litter begins coming out of
the nest box. (The bottle's right behind the door.)

You can use 2-liter bottles, but I like the 1-liter bottles.
They're easier to handle and not quite as cumbersome as the larger ones.
I use a length of baling wire to make a single holder for them.
